Sharks spotted at Nanakuli beach, Portuguese Man-of-War stings in Waikiki

Ocean Safety officials posted warning signs at Nanakuli Beach Park after three aggressive sharks were spotted around 9:30 a.m. ten yards off shore.

Officials say the sharks were attracted to a school of fish. The beach remains open and lifeguards will reassess the situation at 1:30 p.m.

Officials say they also received reports of an influx of Portuguese Man-of-War at the beaches fronting the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and Kaimana Beach in Waikiki.

Officials say there have been six stings reported. Warning signs have been posted.
