DIXVILLE NOTCH, N.H. (AP) – The New Hampshire villages of Dixville Notch and Hart’s Location maintained their tradition of heading to the polls at midnight on Election Day.
The towns have been enjoying their first-vote status since 1948.
In Dixville Notch, the vote is 5 votes apiece for President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.
In Hart’s Location, it took voters 5 minutes and 42 seconds to cast 23 votes for Obama, 9 for Romney and 2 votes for Libertarian Gary Johnson.
New Hampshire’s four electoral votes are being considered crucial in this year’s election.
