Kirk Caldwell elected as Honolulu mayor; Hirono wins seat in U.S. Senate

Kirk Caldwell, who served as acting mayor of Honolulu in back in 2010, has received 151,015, or 52.9 percent of the ballots cast, and continues to lead former governor Ben Cayetano (128,895 votes, or 45.2 percent) in the race for Honolulu mayor.
