Public comments sought at meeting on H-1 Freeway roadwork

HONOLULU – The state Department of Transportation invites the public and all interested parties to a public informational meeting regarding the proposed rehabilitation of the H-1 Freeway, from Middle Street to the vicinity of Ward Avenue

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the community of this project that will include pavement rehabilitation, permanent restriping to accommodate four through-lanes and new street lighting. The proposed construction start schedule is summer of 2013.

on Wednesday, November 7, at 6 p.m. at the Farrington High School Cafeteria, 1564 North King Street, Honolulu, Hawaii.

There will be a presentation and an opportunity to ask DOT representatives questions regarding the proposed project. Comments will be sought for the Environmental Assessment and also for the National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 which requires consultation with Native Hawaiian Organizations and other stakeholders.
