Maui police searching for prison escapee

Maui police are looking for an inmate who walked away from his prison work detail Friday morning.

Police say Henry "Hana" Rosenthal, 31, was assigned to assist with repairs and the Lahaina Civic Center when he walked away at about 10:30 a.m.

Upon conducting checks at the site, the guard noticed Rosenthal was not at his posted location. An escape report was immediately made.

Rosenthal is 5’5" and weighs 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing the bright orange MCCC shirt, blue jeans, and work boots.

He has Hawaiian tribal, triangle tattoos on the right side of this face and neck. He also has a deformed ear.

Rosenthal is considered to be armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police.
