No tsunami threat for Hawaii following 6.4 magnitude quake near Alaska

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami threat for Hawaii after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake was reported in the Gulf of Alaska.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake struck at 10:42 a.m. (HST) just south of Cape Yakataga.

Officials say a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected.

Again, there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
