According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, five trademark applications were filed in October, including the trademark name "Oprah’s Organics."
Winfrey’s organic food brand would reportedly include salad dressings, sauces, soups, dips, frozen vegetables, and beverages.
Another application was filed for a line of bath and body products featuring soap, moisturizer, hair care, and other beauty items.
The media mogul, who owns several hundred acres of land in Kula, Maui, is registered with the Hawaii Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs under "Oprah’s Farm LLC."
"The trademarks were filed for Oprah’s farm on Maui to enable the farm to grow and distribute produce on Maui and throughout the Hawaiian Islands," Winfrey’s spokesperson Nicole Nichols told Today via email.
The new venture comes after the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) continues to lose money and rank low in viewership.
