Wahiawa Lion’s Club hosted annual veterans day parade

After being cancelled last year, thousands watched the Wahiawa Lion’s club 66th annual Veteran’s Day parade on Monday.

The event celebrated the holiday with dozens of marching units.

For some observers the parade was more than just fun.

My whole family has been military my whole life, my grandfather the korean and WWII and my father who was part of Vietnam. So its really important for my kids to understand that," said Deayonn Barquiz.

Last year the parade was cancelled because of security issues involving the APEC summit that was happening during the same time.
