Volunteers from Hawaii who went to New York to help after Hurricane Sandy have started returning to the islands.
The volunteers say they formed a group called Aloha Team 808 while there.
They opened a shelter in Long Island for affected residents.
They kept it opened for seven days.
"A lot of them had gotten electricity and were able to go home," shared Linda Bulatao, that is one of the best sites you can ever see is the look on their face when they are leaving cause they’ve got their electricity, it was really heart warming to see."
41 volunteers from the islands deployed to areas hit by Sandy.
Some have returned, and some are going back for a second deployment.
