The honors keep piling up. As a prelude to Thursday night’s Home Depot College Football Awards Show in Orlando, Notre Dame senior linebacker Manti Te’o was named the Walter Camp National Player of the Year.
The award and All-American teams are voted on by coaches and sports information directors of the 124 bowl subdivision schools.
Recent winners include Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Colt McCoy, Darren McFadden, Troy Smith, and Reggie Bush.
Te’o was selected among fellow finalists Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein, USC wide receiver Marqise Lee and Oregon running back Kenjon Barner.
