High surf advisory for east facing shores of Maui and Molokai

EVENTS: The National Weather Service in Honolulu has continued the high surf advisory for east facing shores of Maui and Molokai in effect until 6:00 a.m. Monday. The high surf warning has been cancelled.

EFFECTS: Surf 8-10 feet for east facing shores exposed to north swell.
Forecast surf heights are estimates of the height of the face or front of waves.

OVERVIEW: The large north swell will continue to decline with elevated surf highest across the eastern end of the state. A high surf advisory means that waves along the affected shores will be higher than normal.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: Beach goers are urged to stay out of the water and well away from the shore break due to the hazardous wave action and dangerous rip currents.
