Firfefighter schocked while battling north shore fire

A firefighter was injured after responding to a fire on the north shore this morning.

40-year-old Manovara Kamaki Worthington was shocked while he was battling a downed power line and structure fire on Pohaku Loa Way.

The line is 7,200 volts, but it’s unclear if he was shocked by the line or the home’s electrical box.

"He was hurt and then almost instantaneously there was, everything was on fire at this one house where he was and there were flames going up 20, 30 feet in the air and smoke and it was full bore," said resident Jeff Wagner.

Worthington is a ten-year veteran.

He was taken to queen’s medical center and is expected to make a full recovery.
