THIS WEEKEND: Honolulu Festival events in Waikiki

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, check out the events happening at the 19th annual Honolulu Festival.  Performances are ongoing at the Hawaii Convention Center and at the Waikiki Beach Walk.  There are live music, dance, and cultural demonstrations taking place.  Admission is free.

On Sunday, the festival culminates with a grand parade down Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki.  Thousands of performers will take part in the event.  It starts at 4:30 p.m. kicking off at Kalakaua Avenue and Saratoga Road.  A fireworks show will also entertain spectators on Waikiki Beach starting at 8:30 p.m.  Kalakaua Avenue will be shut down for the duration of the parade.
