Search for escaped inmate cost HPD nearly $20K in OT

It took Honolulu Police officers 12 hours to track down an escaped inmate on Oahu two weeks ago. The search led to a big price tag for the police department.

HPD says it spent nearly $20,000 in overtime costs for officers assisting with the search for Teddy Munet.

The 29 year old is the murder suspect who ran off at Circuit Court while being transported from Oahu Community Correctional Center for a hearing.
