HONOLULU — The University of Hawai’i men’s basketball team visited Kapi’olani Medical Center For Women & Children on Monday with players, coaches and staff providing encouragement, mementos and autographs for ailing children.

“We’ve come to Kapi’olani Hosptial a few times over the years and it’s always been a great experience,” head coach Gib Arnold said. “We may feel down when we lose a game but coming here really gives us perspective. These children and their parents are going through a lot and hopefully today we were able to inspire them as much as they inspire us.”

The Rainbow Warriors are winding down its regular-season with its league finale at Cal State Northridge on Thursday, March 7 (7:30 p.m. PT/5:30 p.m. HT). Following that UH will compete in the Big West Tournament, March 14-16, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
