Planning a trip soon?
Many travelers fail to factor in the uncertainties that come with traveling.
So how can you ensure a relaxing vacation?
For some, planning a trip can be fun and exciting, but getting there efficiently can sometimes become a burden.
The Hawaii BBB offers these suggestions when booking flights.
"Earlier flights usually have a less chance of being delayed because as time goes by in a day things build up and the delays tend to happen in the evening," says Timothy Caminos of the Hawaii Better Business Bureau.
In case there is a problem with the airline you booked with –
"Pay by credit card if an airline happens to go bankrupt if you paid by credit card you’re very likely to get your money back. If you paid by cash you’re going to have to go through a long drawn out process and you may or may not get a refund with that," Caminos says.
If you’ve never visited an airport you’re stopping over in or arriving at, Caminos advises checking out the layout of an airport on-line is a good idea.
"Planning ahead of time making sure that you know where your going and the airports that you’re headed look at see what their security measures are because each airport has different security measures and that could save you time," Caminos says .
And, when planning various destinations make sure you give yourself enough time to get to the gate early.
"It’s also important to set your itinerary correctly don’t try and put flights too close together a lot of times this causes people to miss flights, which means they are going to be put onto a next flight and may or may not get on that next flight," Caminos says.
