Layered dips recalled over possible lysteria contamination

A nationwide recall has been issued of layered bean dips sold at Costco and Safeway stores.

The layered dips were made by "Fresh Food Concepts" and sold under the Rojo’s brand name at Costco.

The dips were sold under the "Signature Cafe" brand name at Safeway.

All of the products being recalled have a best-buy date of 9/16/2011 or before.

Fresh Food Concepts says guacamole in the dip may be contaminated with lysteria.

Symptoms of lysteria poisoning include high fever, severe headache, and abdominal pain.

Product with expiration dates USE BY 09/24/11 and AFTER are made with avocado from a different source and are NOT involved in this recall. No other products made by Fresh Food Concepts are involved in this recall.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or destroy it. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-714-562-5000 ext 134, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PDT.
