The Maui man who kept a neighborhood locked down for more than two days made a court appearance Monday.
Josiah Okudara pleaded not guilty to an attempted murder charge stemming from an incident last summer. He’s being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
Last week Okudara was holed up inside a Kahului home for 50 hours.
Dozens of neighbors weren’t able to return to their homes during a standoff with police.
He faces charges related to that incident.
