The state average for regular unleaded increased to $4.32 per gallon, which was seven cents more than last week, 24 cents more than last month and seven cents more on this day last year.
Honolulu’s average price had a six-cent bump up from last week to $4.26 a gallon for regular unleaded – up 23 cents from last month and up 14 cents from a year ago.
In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.31 per gallon, three cents more than last week, 23 cents more than last month and 13 cents less than this time a year ago.
Wailuku’s average is $4.39 a gallon, 11 cents more than last week, 31 cents more than last month and four cents lower than last year.
"The highest state average prices for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the country today are: Hawaii at $4.32, followed by California at $4.20 and New York at $4.01," AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida said. "AAA Hawaii urges motorists to use a consistent and gentle driving style as this will make your driving highly fuel efficient."
