Abercrombie to visit renovated Kuhio Park complex

HONOLULU (AP) – Gov. Neil Abercrombie is getting a chance to see the changes being made at Hawaii’s largest public housing project.

Abercrombie plans to visit with residents and view newly renovated units at the Towers of Kuhio Park, formerly known as Kuhio Park Terrace, on Wednesday.

The complex is undergoing a $135 million renovation. So far, over 100 residents have returned to units that have been completed.

The director of the human services department, Patricia McManaman, will join the governor on the visit.
