Being fired from your job is hard, especially if you may have been wrongfully terminated.
Attorneys taking part on our Action Line Law Week fielded dozens of calls on Wednesday about this very issue.
One story in particular was from a woman who went on maternity leave.
When she was ready to come back to work, her job was terminated.
"On the very general basis, yes, that sounds like a wrongful termination. Obviously there’s always other circumstances but the (Hawaii) civil rights commission could give her more guidance," said attorney Ryan Hew.
Thursday’s topic will be about elder law.
Our volunteers will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 591-0222.
