Na Koa Alii, the Hawaii All State Marching Band, is in DC for a couple days before heading to Philadelphia – then on to New York to play in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The band consists of nearly 400 students from 41 Hawaii schools.
Monday, the band practiced at Senate Park on Capitol Hill.
Na Koa Alii was selected as one of ten bands for the 2011 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Na Koa Alii first appearance at Macy’s in 2005. The group also made two appearances at the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade in 2003 and 2009.
