Allen nomination on hold

WASHINGTON (AP) – The White House says it has put on hold John Allen’s nomination to be the next commander of U.S. European Command and the commander of NATO forces in Europe. He’s been caught up in the sex scandal that forced David Petraeus to resign as CIA director. Allen, who succeeded Petraeus as top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, is under investigation for communications with one of the women involved in the Petraeus scandal.
