Annual Veterans Day ceremony services

Many people have Monday off to observe Veterans Day, which is actually Sunday.

On Sunday, these two new Pavilions will be dedicated during the Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.

The Pavilions are part of the Honolulu Memorial.

One of them specifically focuses on the Vietnam War.

"This is a very significant year for the united states because we’re entering our commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the start of the Vietnam War so it’s especially appropriate now that this pavilion and the these battle maps to explain the vietnam war are here," said Tim Nosal with the American Battle Monuments Commission.

Sunday’s ceremony at Punchbowl starts at 10 o’clock in the morning.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta will participate in the events there later in the afternoon.

At 11 a.m. a Veterans Day ceremony will be held at the Waikiki War Memorial Natatorium.

Then at 1 p.m. there will be a ceremony at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe.

And at 4:30 p.m. there will be a Sunset ceremony at the Battleship Missouri Memorial.
