A Reynolds Recycling employee was held up during a heist Tuesday morning.
It happened just before 9 a.m. at the Nanakuli location.
The employee, who did not want to be identified, said he had just arrived at work when the suspect came out of the bushes and pulled out a handgun.
The suspect demanded money from the man before he ran away.
The search for the suspect prompted the temporary lockdown of Nanaikapono Elementary School.
The suspect is still on the loose.
