Army Corps members from Hawaii help repair damage from Hurricane Sandy in New York

A group of 15 engineers from the US Army Corps of Engineers in Hawaii are on their way to New York.

They’ll help in recovery efforts following Hurricane Sandy.

The group deployed yesterday.

While in New York, they’ll help assess public works facilities that may have hurricane damage. This includes water treatment plants, medical facilities and public safety buildings.
