Waters off Waikiki became APEC security zones.
Beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, the west Waikiki offshore security zone will be in effect for 24 hours.
No ships, swimmers or surfers are allowed in the zone.
The east Waikiki zone will be in effect through 11 p.m. Saturday night.
The east zone is closed to ships, however surfers and swimmers will be allowed in the water.
Barriers have been placed on the beach and authorities are patrolling the ocean on jet skis.
