It’s become a family event for the owners of "Scream 808" with more than 50 actors and actresses doing their best to scare you.
"Zombies Apocalypse" has been known to frighten people so bad, they don’t want to continue.
So a warning if you have little ones at home…this story might be a little scary.
Hours before the doors open at "Zombies Apocalypse" those who are in the attraction get into character while getting their make-up professionally done.
"Hmm, yummy…lovely brains."
And, that’s just the beginning, we got to visit just a few of the rooms to see just how scary they are.
For owners Christine & Mike Miller, finding a theme every year is tough, they say they try to figure out what fads are in.
"People were saying that the world is going to end so we took that into a factor too so that’s how we came up with this theme," said Christine Mille, Scream 808 Owner.
Miller says planning and building their haunted attraction takes more than a year, they’ve already started thinking about next year’s theme.
"When people come to our haunted house its like coming to a movie scene each room is a movie scene our actors are acting doing a part," said Miller.
Even though the actors are getting paid to do a scene over and over again, they enjoy seeing the reactions they get from people’s faces.
"You just see like straight fear on people’s faces like that’s the funniest thing," said Scott.
"A lot of the military Gi’s get quite scared in our room so its pretty fantastic to see the big hulky men just go out of the room screaming like ow, oh my god," said actress Barbara Bonura.
"You see someone get like super scared and then you know that they’re going to leave the haunted house and laugh at themselves later on," said actor Scott Ok.
As for tips when visiting … they suggest staying together and on your feet.
"I’ve seen a lot of people get like jello legs because they get so scared or they scream so high pitched that you can’t even hear the sound coming out of their mouths," said Ok.
Zombies Apocalypse is located on Auahi Street in Kakaako and will be open on Halloween.
