Biden says U.S. marines are the "best America has"

Vice President Joe Biden spoke to the troops at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Thursday afternoon before heading to Delaware.

The vice president was welcomed by hundreds of marines, many of whom have served in Afghanistan or are about to deploy for the first time.

Biden told the marines the United States is a "resident pacific power" that is not going away.

The vice president took pictures and shook hands with marines and their families after his speech.
