Big Island fire burns part of warehouse

A fire burned a part of an abandoned warehouse off Maile Street on Thursday. The Pahala Fire Department responded at 12:05 p.m. and had the fire put out at 1:15 p.m.

Damages affected a 40-foot by 30-foot enclosed section, including half the ceiling. The fire involved paper waste on the floor, on the far wall, and into the rafters.

Approximately one-third of the abandoned warehouse was involved. No one was hurt. The cause is undetermined.
