Big Island man arrested for stealing gasoline

Hawaii County police arrested a 22-year-old man for stealing gasoline from a business.

Police say gasoline was stolen from a warehouse in Papaikou at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Surveillance footage on the property shows the suspect attempting to steal gasoline again at about 11:30 p.m.

Police arrested Norton Castro, of Pepeekeo, on Monday.

He was later charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of third-degree theft.

Castro’s bail was set at $4,500.

He was held at the Hilo police cellblock until his court appearance on Tuesday.
