Big Island man charged for several crimes

A 25-year-old Pahoa man is charged with several crimes after two violent incidents.

Michael Dwayne Carvalho is charged with multiple counts of assault, terroristic threatening, and kidnapping.

Police say he attacked and threatened a man with a sharp object in pahoa on december third.

The next day, police say he threatened three people with another edged weapon at a home in Nanawale, and held them against their will.

The victims managed to escape, and called police.

Carvalho’s bail is set at $58,000 dollars.
