The Bishop Museum is laying off about 8 percent of its workforce as part of a restructuring plan.
Thirteen people were let go last week Wednesday.
The organization says it is in response to the lost of more than 2 million dollars in federal funding…and also the implementation of a new strategic plan to more effectively serve the community.
There will be no changes to public hours or educational programs or exhibits.
But starting March first, access to it’s library and archives will be by appointment only.
