Maui rescue crews retrieved the body of a male Monday afternoon.
According to Maui Fire Department officials, they were called to Hoolawa Bay in Haiku around 2:15 p.m.
Officials say the victim was found unresponsive and was airlifted out of the area. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Maui Police Department is conducting an investigation into the victim’s death.
