Traffic was backed up on part of Kalakaua Avenue since early Saturday morning as hundreds of cement trucks made their way through the area near Young Street.
The trucks brought in about 3,800 tons of cement to serve as the foundation of a new condominium project.
Holomua is being created by local developer Peter Savio and will have 176 units.
The building is slated to open as early as 2013.
