March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, which means it’s time to discuss changing the trajectory of colorectal cancer in Hawaii. We need the state Legislature to ensure more people have access to timely screenings and follow-up care without financial barriers. As a physician, I see cost as one of the main reasons uninsured and underinsured residents delay or skip recommended screening and follow-up.
