Column: More to do to earn public’s trust in local government

Kudos to Alexander Silvert for initiating the petition to have the state Legislature investigate what influential legislator may have been the recipient of $35,000 in a paper bag. At the time Silvert’s petition was initiated, our Legislature and attorney general showed no interest in unraveling this mystery although it had been flagged in a federal court filing.
