Community Health Center gets $500,000

Kokua Kahili Valley Community Health Center received a $500,000 grant today.

This money was the final installment in a $1.5 million dollar grant from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation that will double the capacity of the clinic and dental facility. The money will also help pay for a new community kitchen.

Donn Weinberg, chair of the foundation said, “We’re just grateful to the state of Hawaii for providing us with the opportunity to be of help.”

The grant money will help the clinic care for even more patients and was greatly appreciated. “Thank you for your care, we really appreciate this, and uh let’s do it again!” said Rickey Murashige of the Kokua Kalihi Valley Center.

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation has granted over $272 million dollars to more than 700 other non-profit organizations in Hawaii alone.
