Did you get to see the partial solar eclipse this afternoon?

It started just after 2 p.m. and by 3:15 p.m. one-tenth of the sun was blocked by the moon.

That was the most we’d see the sun covered. People gathered at the Bishop Museum to check out the action safely — with the proper lenses.

What did it look like?
"A bite out of a cookie," said Owen Edwards who is 4 years-old.

"It’s beautiful," noted Paul Hill, a visitor from South Carolina. "It’s gorgeous, i’ve seen the lunar before but never the solar eclipses and it’s gorgeous."

Here’s what the eclipse looked like from Mount Fuji in Japan — dubbed a "ring of fire." People from Asia to the Texas panhandle were able to see the eclipse.
