Disaster Assistance and Recovery Center to open for Big Island residents

A Disaster Assistance and Recovery Center (DARC) will be established in Kailua-Kona to provide information and services to people and businesses whose property was damaged by the March 11, 2011, Honshu (Tohoku), Japan Tsunami.

The DARC is provided as a service to the affected community; a visit to the DARC is not a requirement to receive disaster assistance.

Location and hours for the DARC are: Tuesday, March 29, and Wednesday, March 30, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

If you have any questions regarding the recovery effort and cannot visit the DARC, or would like to report damage to your home (including personal recreational boats) or business, please contact Hawaii State Civil Defense at 855-211-7456.
