A boat found on the Windward side of Oahu may be the next piece of tsunami debris from Japan.
The boat was first spotted last week in Kahana Bay and broke into pieces on the shoreline.
The state says there are Japanese characters on the wreckage, Japanese registration numbers, and species of mussels that appear to be from the Japan coastline.
Official confirmation is pending from NOAA and the Japan Consulate.
If confirmed, it will be the fourth piece of tsunami debris to reach Hawaii and the 17th overall for the U.S. and Canada.
