Hawaii’s online community has come together to help build a playground for east Oahu children.
The Niu Valley Community Association was one of five winners in a national playground design contest.
The group will get $15,000 towards the construction of a new playground at Niu Valley Park.
It’s design beat 59 others from around the U.S. in an online Facebook contest.
The association is still about $75,000 short of its goal to build the playground.
