Editorial: Up-front payments benefit nonprofits

Hawaii’s nonprofits work for the community, often on behalf of or in partnership with state and county governments, to house and care for homeless, deliver food to struggling families, assist domestic violence victims, provide health services to the underserved — the list goes on. Post-COVID, and after a particularly painful year of federal cutbacks, it is these groups that now need a helping hand.
