There is a wonderful opportunity for the generations to gather around a common interest of sports.
Whether it’s Rainbow warrior football or Wahine volleyball or your youngster’s soccer team.
The Honolulu Quarterback Club is ready, willing and able to take on all topics sports.
"The real passion of the quarterback club is to celebrate all athletic achievements with all ages, from grammar school to professional and we do that every Monday except when we have holidays over at the Maple Garden,” said Herman Stern, president of the Honolulu Quarterback Club.
There is no professional team in Hawaii.
However, there are professionals from Hawaii and the quarterback club always welcomes those pros to talk with their audience.
"We’ve had Akebono on, we’ve had the gal, the Russian marathon winner that was disqualified, we had her on. Bryan Clay’s been on,” said Stern.
And that’s just the beginning. The reason we are featuring the Honolulu Quarterback Club on the elderhood project is to promote it as a place where parents and kids, grandparents and grandkids can get together to learn more about their favorite sports, their favorite athletes.
"It’s a wonderful venue for that,” said Stern. “And families come. We celebrate the sports person of the month and it’s a male and female and at the end, we have the sports person of the year, selected from those 24 people that we select during the year."
If you are involved in sports or have a nephew, niece, grandson or granddaughter involved in sports, Stern says this is the perfect place to let those people like-minded to learn more about what they’re doing.
"We’d be more than happy to make that announcement at our monthly luncheons and help promote those sports venues, too,” said Stern.
