A day after being named the Big West Conference player of the week, Emily Hartong took it "national".
The junior outside hitter was "given the nod" as the AVCA national player of the week.
It’s the first time Hartong has achieved such an honor in her career and just the 7th time a Rainbow Wahine player has earned the distinction.
Last one to do it was Jamie Houston in 2006.
Hartong had a career-high 33-kills last week in a win over long beach state, and a career-best 16-digs to go along with 29-kills the next day against UC Irvine.
Hartong and the rest of the 9th-ranked Lady Bows, are back on the Taraflex Thursday, at home, versus UC Santa Barbara.

With a name like Manoa…where else could he possibly go?
UH Warriors got a verbal commitment from California defensive end, David Manoa.
The 6’4”, 225-pounder comes out of Aragon High School in San Mateo.
Manoa’s uncle, Tim, played running back at Kahuku and Penn State, as well as in the NFL.
He’s said to be a strong pass rusher.
