Typically April 15 is known as the deadline for taxes. This year an extension of a couple days has been implemented for federal income taxes. Instead taxes will be due Tuesday April 17.
Monday, April 16 is Emancipation Day in Washington D.C. The tax code prohibits filing deadlines to fall on weekends or holidays. All Hawaii post offices will close at their regular times this Tuesday and all 28 locations will offer late collections and postmarks.
