According to FAA spokesman Ian Gregor, an unknown aircraft crashed into waters off Kauai around 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Kauai officials say it happened near Honopu on the north shore.
Gregor says, according to the U.S. Coast Guard, two people on board were killed.
The FAA and NTSB will investigate the accident.
