Around 7:15 p.m. Monday night, Big Island Fire Department crews were called to the fire on Opae Street.
By the time they got there the home was already involved in flames and several small explosions were heard, possibly caused by propane tanks.
The fire was extinguished about two and a half hours later.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
