Flags will fly at half-staff Monday in honor of former Big Island mayor, Herbert Matayoshi.
The flags will fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset.
Matayoshi passed away earlier this month. He was Big Island’s second elected mayor in 1974 and served until 1984.
A celebration of life will be held in Honolulu Monday night. Another service will be held in Hilo August 15.
