The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the Big Island through late Friday night.
Heavy showers focused mainly along windward slopes will bring high chances for flooding while afternoon convection will bring a flooding threat to Leeward slopes.
Avoid camping or hiking near streams and low-lying flood prone areas.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
Flash flooding is very dangerous. It does not have to be raining heavily where you are for flash flooding to occur.
